If someone wanted to start learning your craft, how do you recommend they get started? Resources?
We are talking surf here. So, I’d highly recommend taking few surf lessons with good instructor, cause that is the way to get quickly into basic surf techniques and understanding of the ocean. This is much safer and faster than trying to figure it out on your own. Also you’ll get a clear understanding if surfing is something you’d want to proceed by yourself.
But on the other hand, if you don’t wan’t to deal with instructor for some reason, than the best idea before buying or even renting a surf board will be go out for the first few times with a body-board. It’s way easier physically and at least you would get some experience of riding foamy waves and interacting with ocean, cause this would makes huge difference when you try to surf for the first time.
