Fans of experimental electronic music, take note. On Friday, June 16th, EDGEtv will be hosting a free download day of Lost in Stars track “Sky” (Luminous Creatures Remix). A collaboration between Lost in Stars poet and composer Dylan Willoughby and Darren Burgos, the original version of “Sky” was released on Lost in Stars self-titled debut album and was inspired by a shared love of deep house. “‘Sky’ invites with a warm male vocal, slowing the tempo down first, just to flourish into a slice of gentle German rave, with added guitar and drum elements,” says The Electricity Club. The Luminous Creatures Remix of “Sky” was mastered just a few days ago and will be available to download on EDGEtv.com for one day only.
ABOUT LOST IN STARS
Lost in Stars is the downtown-LA based electronic music project of poet and composer Dylan Willoughby, in collaboration with Kid Moxie, Alysa Lobo, Darren Burgos and Gaku Murata.
Lost in Stars self-titled debut album was released on March 31 with tracks premiering at PopMatters, Insomniac, PureVolume, and Big Shot. In conjunction with the release, Impose Magazine published an essay by Willoughby about listening to music in the age of streaming.
The new album has been praised for its “warm musical style and fine pop sense” by PopMatters and its “transformative” power by Big Shot. The Electricity Club dubbed the music an “excellent effort” that should appeal to synthpop fans, while WLUR radio found that it “contains everything, from classic house to grime and synths from other experimental artists like Jamie XX and Glass Candy.” The station called it a “highly-recommended adventure.” The music has been championed by tastemaker radio station KCRW and by the nationally distributed show “Echoes.” It continues to climb the charts on indie radio stations across the country and debuted at #1 on several stations.
